In this role, the consultant will:
- Develop and implement scalable SAP MM solutions to address FBM’s procurement and manufacturing needs.
- Lead full-cycle implementations, from requirements gathering to go-live and post-implementation support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration and effective process optimization.
- Drive enhancements in inventory management, purchase order processing, supplier collaboration, and material requirements planning (MRP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and implement SAP MM solutions for:
- Procurement processes: Streamline and manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, vendor management, and source-to-pay (S2P) workflows to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Inventory management: Design and configure solutions for goods receipts, goods issues, stock transfers, inventory reconciliations, consignment stock management, and batch management. Ensure accurate tracking and valuation of inventory in alignment with company policies and SAP best practices.
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Configure planning runs, forecasting algorithms, and replenishment strategies, incorporating safety stock, reorder points, and lead time calculations to optimize inventory levels.
- Logistics Invoice Verification (LIV): Enable efficient processing of vendor invoices, handling discrepancies in invoice matching (2-way/3-way matching), automating tax calculations, and ensuring proper integration with FICO for financial postings.
- Vendor evaluation: Implement and maintain supplier evaluation criteria, incorporating metrics such as quality, delivery performance, and cost, to ensure optimal supplier collaboration.
- Design and configure SAP MM integration with other modules:
- SD: Align inventory availability and procurement processes with sales and order fulfillment to improve customer satisfaction.
- FICO: Integrate financial postings related to inventory valuation, material movements, and vendor payments.
- PP: Ensure seamless material availability for production planning, covering raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished goods.
- WM: Integrate warehouse management processes to enhance stock management, picking, and storage location accuracy.
- Outsourced manufacturing support: Configure and manage subcontracting processes, including issuing materials to subcontractors, tracking work-in-progress inventory, and reconciling finished goods receipts with subcontracting purchase orders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements. Translate functional requirements into effective SAP configurations and solutions tailored to the business needs.
- Testing and validation: Lead testing phases, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring all configurations meet operational standards.
- End-user training and support: Provide comprehensive training and documentation to enable users to effectively manage inventory, purchasing, and LIV processes within SAP MM.
- Localization requirements: Configure tax settings, regional compliance requirements, and pricing procedures to align with global and regional procurement regulations.
- Procurement process optimization: Implement solutions for catalog management, automatic sourcing, and supplier collaboration, enhancing procurement efficiency and supplier relationships.
- Enhance inventory visibility and control: Develop and configure advanced reporting tools, such as inventory aging, stock availability, valuation reports, and purchase order tracking, using SAP standard reports and custom queries.
- Master data management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date master data for materials, vendors, pricing conditions, and procurement hierarchies to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
- Performance optimization: Monitor system performance, implement upgrades and patches, and fine-tune configurations to ensure the SAP MM module operates at optimal efficiency.
- Troubleshooting and support: Identify, analyze, and resolve issues related to procurement, inventory, LIV, and integration workflows. Provide expert-level support to minimize downtime and improve operational effectiveness.
- Stay informed on SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud advancements: Proactively recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance procurement and inventory functionalities, keeping FBM at the forefront of technology-driven efficiencies.
- Expertise in SAP MM configuration for procurement and inventory management processes.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes.
- Hands-on experience in inter-module integrations, including SD, FICO, PP, and WM.
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud solutions is a significant plus.
- Proficiency in material valuation, split valuation, and batch management.
- Solid understanding of MRP strategies, stock transport orders, and subcontracting processes.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex business requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience with SAP MM implementations and support.
- Proven expertise in SAP MM configurations and integration with other modules.
- SAP certification in MM or S/4HANA is preferred but not required.
