Foundation for Blind Children (FBC) is a high profile, nationally recognized non-profit in Phoenix, Arizona. The role of the IT Technician is to provide end user computer support. This includes hardware and software installation, relocating, and troubleshooting problems with both clients/students and staff of our organization across our three campus locations as well as various client locations throughout the state of Arizona. In addition, this role will provide network and server infrastructure support as needed.
Job duties include:
- Provide end user support by monitoring ServiceDesk assignments and ticketing queue and thoroughly documenting problems and resolutions.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot/support hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices for internal staff and external clients.
- Install, configure, and support assistive technology devices and software including refreshable braille displays, CCTV’s, Victor Readers, embossers, Fusion, Jaws, ZoomText, VoiceOver, OpenBook, Duxbury, etc. for internal staff and external clients.
- Assist in installing, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure including physical servers, virtual servers, switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory of all FBC owned hardware and software.
- Install and maintain cabling for networking, and audio / video cabling including working in ceiling and walls.
- Educate and train staff and clients on appropriate use of hardware, software, and assistive technology.
- Provide after-hours support, usually by phone. Travel back to office or client during evening or weekend hours as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or similar field - OR - 2 years of experience providing end-user support troubleshooting computer issues.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems independently and efficiently.
- Experience in the Windows OS, Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, Assistive Technology hardware and software for the Blind and Visually impaired
- Experience and/or knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, Office 365, Exchange Server, VMWare, and Veeam Backup (PREFERRED)
- Experience with enterprise networking, switching, routing, and wireless (PREFERRED)
- CompTia A or Net (PREFERRED)
- Valid Arizona driver’s license
- Ability to obtain Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Ability to obtain Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Re-entry Contractors clearance
Salary : $22 - $25
