What You’ll Do
The Associate Director, Product Solutions and Development Operations is a strategic leadership role within the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FoundationCCC) Technology Department, central to advancing secure, scalable, and high-performing enterprise technology solutions that support California’s community colleges. This position bridges the gap between software development, IT operations, and cloud infrastructure to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions. and leads the DevOps engineering team, establishing CI/CD pipelines, enhancing system reliability, and designing cloud-native architectures that align with stakeholder and product objectives. The Associate Director collaborates closely with vendor, security, and product teams to implement best practices in automation, infrastructure- as-code (IaC), and cloud computing.

What You’ll Do

This position bridges the gap between software development, IT operations, and cloud infrastructure to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions. and leads the DevOps engineering team, establishing CI/CD pipelines, enhancing system reliability, and designing cloud-native architectures that align with stakeholder and product objectives. The Associate Director collaborates closely with vendor, security, and product teams to implement best practices in automation, infrastructure- as-code (IaC), and cloud computing.
- Define and lead the DevOps and Solutions Architecture strategy, aligning cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks with organizational goals.
- Administer and sustain scalable, secure, and high-availability cloud solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and industry trends to improve scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and third-party services to optimize system capabilities.
- Lead and mentor the Solutions Architecture and DevOps team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Relevant BA/BS, equivalent work experience, or a combination of both
- Minimum of five years of related work experience in software engineering with at least two years in a solution or system architecture role
- Proven experience supporting and scaling distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native applications.
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL), API design, and integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, messaging, etc).
- Familiar with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Working knowledge across tech stacks—frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based orchestration, and serverless systems.
- Experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines for streamlined development and deployment.
- Proficient in using a wide range of technology platforms, including Zoom, Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, Salesforce, and Google Workspace.
