Job Title: Clinical Assessor
Immediate Supervisor:Clinical Risk Manager
Experience and Qualifications
The Clinical Assessor must be an LMHP-type as defined by Virginia DMAS and DBHDS, plus one year of clinical experience in the human services field, including one year in an administrative or supervisory capacity. Excellent written and verbal skills are required as well as the ability to train and oversee all administrative practices of the agency is a must.
Position Responsibilities/Duties:
- The Contractor Clinician Position will be fully remote with the exception of mandatory in office trainings.
- Conducts initial, comprehensive, and annual reassessments for children, adolescents, and adults receiving IIH, MHSS or CS services.
- Completes service authorization requests and submit them to the appropriate staff for submission to the MCO.
- Review and make necessary revisions to continued stay requests submitted by QMHP’s.
- Conducts on-site clinical supervision as outlined by DMAS and DBHDS supervision requirements for IIH, MHSS and CS services along with staff LMHP-R, LMHP-S, and LMHP-E.
- Develops initial 30-day individual treatment plans in collaboration with families and individuals receiving services.
- Provides direct billable services, such as, individual and family sessions to recipients of Medicaid who have been approved for services by Magellan of Virginia and DMAS using various theoretical perspectives such as Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered, Solution Focused, and Strength-based perspective.
- Complete non-assessment tasks consisting of : Authorizations checks, ISP creation and maintenance, Individual supervision of QMHPs, and administrative tasks (maintaining EHR files).
- Develop, review, and complete clinical documents, such as, Individual Service Plans, discharge reports, quarterly reports, clinical assessments, service authorization requests, and any other clinical document the agency designates the Clinical Supervisor to complete.
- Maintains confidentiality and client records in accordance with agency, federal, and state regulations.
- Shall be available for: on-call responsibility as necessary.
- Maintain compliance with state licensure and Medicaid standards.
- Personally maintains a small caseload or handles some of the more complex cases; performs a variety of direct clinical, diagnostic, treatment, and outreach services.
- Maintain contact with upper management on a weekly basis to provide updates on staff and case assignments.
- Supervise and review QMHP’s to ensure documentation is within compliance.
This individual will participate and possibly facilitate new employment orientation, meetings, and conferences as scheduled as well as training as mandated by Department of Medical Assistance Services and Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
Training:
- Employees must be trained and certified in: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and TOVA along with training as mandated by Department of Medical Assistance Services and Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
Additional Requirements:
- Employees must be certified as being tuberculosis (TB) free
- Employees must clear criminal background and CPS registry check
- Employees must have a working touch screen laptop, tablet, or smartphone for use in the field
- Employees must have a personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
Additional Note:
*The provider or their representative will grant employees or contractors access to their job description during the new hire orientation. A signed copy of the job description will be provided to the employee or contractor on their start date and made available at the main office for any future viewings. Any changes to job responsibilities will be communicated by the provider through email or written means, with notification provided not later than 10 business days.

Pay: $32.00 - $38.23 per hour
