Events Associate
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the development and execution of small and large-scale virtual, hybrid, and in-person events, in collaboration with Events team.
- Draft and edit event materials, runs-of-show, transcripts, and other materials as needed.
- Assist with event logistics, registration, and guest communication during all stages of event.
- Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and project management platforms to maintain orderly and accurate internal process guides and attendee/vendor databases.
- Track and compile relevant outside events and calendars, particularly those relevant to FDD and similar think tanks/organizations.
- Provide outstanding customer service for event speakers and guests, including VIPs.
Qualifications and Qualities:
- Exceptional written communication skills, including proofreading and copy editing. Familiarity with AP style preferred.
- Detail-oriented an dwell-organized. Independently able to set priorities, organize time, follow up on tasks, and identify resources.
- Friendly, customer-service attitude, well-suited for a client-facing role.
- A growth-minded team player with superior problem-solving skills, comfortable receiving and actioning feedback.
- An interest and understanding of FDD's issues and impact.
- Bachelor's degree required; relevant field preferred (communications, international relations, political science, public policy, history, English, etc.).
- Experience in non-profits, events, public affairs, advocacy, communications, or related disciplines is a plus.
- This position is located in Washington, DC. Associate must live within commuting distance from downtown Washington, DC and be available to work from FDD's D.C. office at least three days per week, with flexibility in accordance with events schedule.
This role has a projected salary band of $55,000-$65,000 per year, based on candidate's experience and qualifications. Additional benefits are available, including healthcare coverage based on eligibility.
