Paraprofessional/Administrative Assistant
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Student Services, the Paraprofessional/ Administrative Assistant assists with the direct support of students and staff. The Paraprofessional Administrative Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Student Services department in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to academic student support, day-to-day department operations, coordination of scheduling, translation, and monitoring of communication, record keeping, filing and other areas as needed.
Location: Split school sites
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide students with individualized and group academic support through instruction and tutoring
- Assist students with assigned special projects
- Assist staff with implementation of behavioral modification plans
- Encourage students and help maintain a supportive learning environment
- May be required to attend in-service training programs and workshops and other activities, as needed
- Respond to phone and in-person inquiries and requests from students, families, school staff and community members
- Supports in coordination of all related services and/or service providers
- Manages confidential information professionally and appropriately
- Maintains and supports the filing and record-keeping systems for IEP files and clinical documentation
- Translates English to Spanish for parent meetings and workshops, as needed
- Effectively communicate to parents and guardians the special education and English language development process including a process for referrals, evaluations, annual plan reviews, eligibility evaluations as well as parental rights granted by IDEA
- Perform other related duties as assigned
WORK YEAR: 11-month employee

Qualifications

- Secondary academia and college/career support
- Strong STEM background desired
- Special Education law and processes

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum education: Bachelor’s Degree with STEM background, strongly desired
2-4 years of experience in education and/or special education
1 year office and/or administrative experience preferred
Ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish (verbal and written) highly preferred
Salary : $2
