The Financial Analyst will support both the Controller and Assistant Controller, focusing on financial analysis, reporting, and identifying anomalies in financial data to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial processes.

Essential Functions:
- Develop a deep understanding of financial workstreams, including direct bill processes, vendor payables, and accounts receivable, and how they impact financial statements.
- Collaborate with the Controller, Assistant Controller, and Commission Analysts to identify and resolve workflow anomalies.
- Prepare financial management reports for corporate submission.
- Analyze income statement and balance sheet accounts to identify inconsistencies.
- Develop and maintain income statement and balance sheet trending reports.
- Assist the Assistant Controller in the month-end close process.
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements and provide insights.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and working knowledge of accounting procedures and practices.
- Ability to analyze financial transactions and understand their impact on financial statements.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex financial issues.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, with a willingness to stay up to date on advanced functions to improve efficiencies.
- Experience with Applied Epic is a plus; knowledge of other broker ERP systems (AMS360, Sagitta) is beneficial.
- Flexibility to accommodate deadlines related to month-end close, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years related experience in a general accounting or analytical role.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
