Reporting to the Vice President, Advancement, the Director, Major Gifts, manages a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors and is charged with identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects and donors. The Director, Major Gifts, is a high-performing fundraiser who will work closely with the VP, Advancement and staff across the Advancement team to create exciting, donor-focused gift proposals that support the museum's film and education programming, exhibitions, accessibility initiatives, and capital needs. This role will also help develop strategies for fundraising programs and events at the museum as well as Academy-wide including the Academy100 campaign. The role supervises two members of the individual giving team and, in coordination with the Vice President, Advancement, is responsible for monitoring and supporting work with their respective portfolios.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Serve as relationship manager for a portfolio of approximately 125-150 key donors and prospects capable of giving at the Major Gifts ($100,000 ) level.
- Develop a multi-year fundraising and stewardship strategy for assigned relationships.
- Meet and exceed annual revenue goals as well as Academy100 campaign goals and milestones.
- Play a visible and collaborative leadership role within the overall Advancement team and for organization-wide projects and priorities.
- Manage two members of the individual giving team and support the fundraising and moves management process within their respective portfolios.
- Provide professional support and partnership, as needed, to members of Academy professional leadership and relevant board and committee members in identification, solicitation and stewardship efforts.
- Actively engage in regular donor / prospect communication, cultivation, and direct solicitation with specific metrics and fundraising goals.

The expected salary for this role is $120,000. The actual base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
