Responsibilities:

  • Environment Creation and Maintenance:
  • Establishing a consistent, emotionally safe, and supportive environment conducive to the successful transition to adulthood.
  • Collaboration with Support Teams:
  • Working with clinical and academic support teams to implement programming that helps young adults achieve their goals.
  • Teaching and Modeling Life Skills:
  • Conducting one-on-one and group sessions to develop executive functioning and independent living skills.
  • Daily Tasks:
  • Handling daily responsibilities such as transportation, medication management, recreation planning, cleanliness, and community involvement.
  • Role Modeling:
  • Demonstrating healthy habits, problem-solving skills, emotional maturity, and effective executive functioning.
  • Experiential Activities:
  • Engaging and facilitating outdoor and community-based activities like hiking, biking, boating, nature walks, camping, potlucks, art strolls, RPGs, board games, music events, and arts and crafts.

Requirements:

  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills and creativity.
  • Professional experience in guidance, teaching, or experiential education.
  • History of direct care in a therapeutic environment.
  • Clean driving record and willingness to undergo CPR/First Aid training.
  • Education and Experience:
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in human services, teaching, mentoring, or relevant educational environments.

Additional Information:

  • Schedule and Compensation:
  • Rotating 3 days on/4 days off or 4 days on/3 days off schedule.
  • Compensation commensurate with experience, including full benefits package.
