Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric care to patients and overall clinical direction across acute treatment programs at Foundations for Living.
About the Position
The Psychiatrist will work with our progressive team of healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, comprehensive care that addresses the unique needs of each patient. Our continuum of mental health and addiction services includes inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and ECT programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric care to patients and lead the clinical direction of acute treatment programs.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including diagnoses, interventions, and patient progress.
- Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and their families to promote healing and recovery.
- Prioritize patient safety and well-being by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
Requirements
- Education and Training: Medical Degree from an accredited School of Medicine and completed Residency in Psychiatry.
- Experience: At least one year of inpatient psychiatric experience working with patients with complex needs.
- Licensure and Certification: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in Florida and Board Certified or Board Eligible as Practicing Psychiatrist.
- Knowledge and Skills: Advanced knowledge of principles of abnormal psychology, medication management, and milieu management.
- Certifications: Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent, and Current CPR Certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider).
