Description
Position Summary : Monitor, record, reconcile, audit, and maintain hotel accounting records. Practice proper accounting procedures.
Provide accounting and reporting support to all hotels.
Duties :
- Balance hotel deposits
- Audit hotel postings for accuracy
- Post hotel receivable payments
- Prepare hotel receivable billings
- Resolve customer billing and credit card concerns
- Send delinquent accounts to collections
- Manage monthly accounts receivables and follow up on past due invoices
- Update and maintain balancing spreadsheets; share with management as needed
- File documents
- Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, local, state and federal policies, directives, rules and regulations, and current accounting standards
- Act as backup to answer incoming business calls as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Education, Knowledge and Skills :
- Any combination of a 2-year degree and / or 2 years of accounting experience required
- Multi-entity accounting experience preferred
- Able to learn, understand and use multiple computer accounting systems, software and hardware, and how they interface with one another
- Strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) to include import and export of spreadsheet data
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation
- Able to analyze information and use logic to address issues
- Strong written and oral communication skills, to include effectively conveying information to others, and giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Able to listen, read and understand information provided by supervisors and co-workers
- Able to use sound judgment and make appropriate independent decisions
- Able to manage time and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Able to perform with sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist;
- to lift, carry, push, and / or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of computer keyboard;
