We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated team at our veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring a welcoming environment for clients and their pets, as well as supporting our veterinary staff in delivering high-quality animal care.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism upon arrival.
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and reminders to optimize clinic operations.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and vaccination updates.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries efficiently.
- Assist veterinary technicians with basic animal handling and care tasks as needed.
- Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Uphold aseptic techniques during interactions to maintain a safe environment for animals and staff.
- Provide information on animal husbandry practices to clients when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
- Familiarity with front desk operations, including appointment scheduling and record management.
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques; experience with equine or kennel environments is a plus.
- Basic understanding of veterinary terminology; experience as a veterinary technician is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
