Job Description
- Assist with in room appointments, which includes collecting information from pet owners, charting and starting any diagnostics for the doctors.
- Assist in surgery and prepping patients, which includes pre-op lab work, placing IVC's, calculating medications, monitoring anesthesia, recovering pets and charting the procedure.
- Ability to take radiographs, administer medications, triage emergencies.
- Maintaining a clean work environment, knowledge of preparing surgical equipment and cleaning surgical equipment.
- Educating pet owners on disease processes, vaccination schedules, medications prescribed.
Requirements and Skills
- Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology
- Registration for working as a RVT in the State of North Carolina
- Proper restraining of patients and animal handling technique
- Ability to perform venipuncture, place IVC's, administering medications PO, IV, SQ and IM
- Laboratory procedures prepared for outsource and inhouse labs including but not limited to blood chemistry, hematology, cytology, urinalysis and fecals

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
