Job Summary: Four Seasons Health Club is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Swim Coach to lead our swim program and oversee our swim coaching staff. This role is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality swim instruction and training programs for swimmers of all ages and abilities, fostering a positive team environment, and ensuring program success while upholding the values and mission of our health club.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Oversight:
- Design, implement, and manage swim programs, including group lessons, private coaching, swim team practices, and competitive events.
- Develop seasonal training plans to optimize swimmer performance and progression.
- Ensure programs cater to varying skill levels, from beginners to competitive athletes.
- Promote a team culture in which swimmers exhibit team spirit and sportsmanship, are passionate about swimming, excited to come to practice each day, and thrive on competition.
- Coaching and Instruction:
- Provide expert swim coaching and technical instruction, focusing on stroke development, conditioning, and technique improvement.
- Create a safe, supportive, and motivating environment for swimmers.
- Team Leadership:
- Assist with the training and management of assistant swim coaches and instructors.
- Set performance expectations, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback to coaching staff.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professionalism among staff and athletes.
- Operational Management:
- Schedule practices, lessons, and swim meets in coordination with other aquatics programs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of pool facilities and equipment.
- Monitor and maintain program budgets, attendance, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate, assign, and communicate with parent volunteers for home swim meets and team social events.
- Effectively utilize the swim meet software, Meet Manager and Team Manager.
- Manage administrative aspects including but not limited to meet entry and seeding, meet set-up, and parent communication.
- Attend meetings with the Aquatics & Recreation Manager, Assistant Swim Coaches, and Twin City Swim Conference as needed.
- Member Engagement and Retention:
- Build strong relationships with swimmers, parents, and club members to promote program participation and satisfaction.
- Act as a club ambassador during community events and swim meets to attract new members.
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a swim coach, preferably at the head coach or program director level.
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding and CPR/AED
- Strong knowledge of competitive swim techniques, training methodologies, and athlete development.
- Enthusiasm for coaching children at all levels of youth swimming.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire swimmers of all ages and abilities.
- Familiarity with health club or aquatics center operations is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in and around water for extended periods.
- Capable of demonstrating swim techniques in a pool setting.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
Working Environment: Functions regularly within exercise, recreation, and office settings. Is regularly exposed to smells of swimming pools, exercise areas, chemicals, and other cleaning supplies. Is occasionally exposed to bodily fluids or demanding physical exertion during emergency response situations; risks are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures. This role requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet program needs.
