About the Role
The Rooms Controller oversees all room blocking processes for incoming reservations, ensuring alignment with hotel inventory. Manage the daily flow of arrivals and departures, considering specific check-in and check-out times. Ensure that Perfect Room Program objectives are achieved and keep the Director of Rooms, Director of Housekeeping, and Director of Engineering informed of any issues affecting the completion of these goals.
JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Oversee room blocking for arriving reservations, ensuring proper inventory allocation
- Manage room assignments, ensuring the best use of available space and revenue optimization
- Monitor daily arrivals and departures, coordinating with front desk staff to accommodate guest needs
- Ensure that all guest room requirements are met, including special requests or preferences
- Collaborate with the Director of Rooms, Housekeeping, and Engineering to maintain room quality and readiness
- Implement the Perfect Room Program, ensuring goals are met and report any issues to the appropriate department heads
- Update and maintain accurate records in the hotel PMS
- Assist in managing overbooking situations and minimize the impact on guest satisfaction
- Support room assignments and alignment with group bookings
- Review daily reports and make adjustments as needed to optimize room availability
