Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Auditor to join our camper manufacturing team in California. The Quality Auditor will play a critical role in ensuring that all of our campers meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and functionality before they reach our customers. Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control & Inspection: Oversee the inspect raw materials, in-process products, and final goods to ensure they meet quality standards. This includes evaluating structural integrity, interior design, safety features, and functional components (plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, etc.). Document and report audit finding, including any deviations from quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and product designs. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address issues and improve overall product quality.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and certifications for each unit produced. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with production, engineering, and design teams to resolve quality-related issues. Provide training and support to staff to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.
- Quality Reporting: Regularly prepare and present quality reports to senior management, outlining the status of production, quality metrics, non-conformance issues, and action plans for improvement.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in the RV, camper, or automotive industries is highly preferred.
Education/ Training:
- High School Diploma
- Associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing or quality control preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or ISO 9001 are a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of quality control processes, testing methods, and inspection techniques.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, measuring instruments, and quality control equipment.
- Familiarity with RV industry standards and quality control systems is a plus.
- Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
Problem-Solving Ability:
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on identifying issues and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
Attention to Detail:
- Must have a keen eye for detail to identify even the smallest defects or potential issues during the production process.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50lbs as needed to inspect and handle components.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading or managing a team, with the ability to motivate, coach, and train staff on quality standards and practices.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with camper, RV, or trailer manufacturing processes, including understanding specific challenges and quality benchmarks for these types of products.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with different teams, suppliers, and management.
