The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. In partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives to advance community health throughout the city.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Established in 1805, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) is the oldest and largest health department in the country. Our mission is to protect and improve the health of all New Yorkers.
The Center for Population Health Data Science (CPHDS), launched in November of 2023, aims to catalyze critical data modernization work and enable the agency to link public health, healthcare, and social services for timely and effective public action.
This position will be based at the Health Department’s office in Long Island City, NY, with the possibility of hybrid work.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to oversee the agency's user-centered effort to modernize how data is published and accessed. The Senior Director will lead a collaborative effort to empower analysts and researchers to publish program data and align these efforts with the agency’s communications priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology and Digital Transformation
- Lead the development of a scalable, user-centered platform for publishing public health data.
- Collaborate with IT and data teams to integrate tools with the agency’s enterprise data systems.
- Drive the adoption of modern data visualization and publication technologies.
- Oversee the design of user interfaces and workflows for data access.

QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED SKILLS
The ideal candidate must be a proactive individual comfortable with multitasking and working in dynamic environments. This individual may need to work non-business hours in health emergencies.
SALARY
The salary range for this position is $120k-130k.
WORK SCHEDULE
9 : 00 am – 5 : 00 pm Monday to Friday – Hybrid
