About the Position
The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, directing, and assisting the overall project operations. This role will be responsible for improving project performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through the implementation of effective systems, processes, and overall strategies for our various mechanical projects.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate manpower for field operations, ensuring efficient deployment
- Oversee fabrication and delivery from the shop, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Align schedules for BIM/Engineering and Service teams with project needs and timelines.
- Arrange lodging accommodations for travel when required
- Provide operational support to the project team, focusing on customer experience, profitability, and high-quality standards
- Maintain open communication with the project team to ensure resource availability and efficiency
- Plan and coordinate manpower and supply to meet project goals
- Collaborate with the shop to streamline processes and enhance communication
- Identify and implement process improvements and develop policies to enhance operations
- Manage procurement, material ordering, and cost control, ensuring adherence to best practices
- Ensure the proper organization, dates, and storage of returned materials
- Support the shop team in ensuring on-time, efficient production
- Coordinate job scope, requirements, and communication between the Projects and shop teams
- Oversee daily operations of the fabrication shop, providing materials, direction, and support
- Communicate job status and completion to the Projects team for alignment and awareness
- Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership to ensure smooth operations and organizational efficiency
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2-3 years of experience in construction operations, project management, or related field
- Basic understanding of construction processes, materials, and safety regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience coordinating and managing subcontractors and vendors
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in construction operations, project management, or related field
- Familiarity with ProCore or other related project management software
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction safety certification or ability to obtain
