Concord Medical Center a division of Summit Medical Group is seeking a Referral Coordinator . The referral coordinator is responsible for the arrival of referrals to specialist’s offices prior to patient scheduled appointment as well as handling patient check outs. This is a full time opportunity.
Examples of Duties (List does not include all duties assigned)
- Investigates overpayments and formulates solutions.
- Assists in maintaining, updating and auditing the patient account information.
- Transfers charges to the correct agency or carrier, when appropriate.
- Communicates with insurance companies and patients as needed acting as liaison to ensure the timely processing of overpayments.
- Adjusts patient accounts according to established policies and procedures.
- Works in conjunction with accounts payable to ensure that patient and insurancere funds are processed in a timely manner.
- Communicates appropriate problems, questions and / or concerns to supervisor.
- Assists colleagues in department and other office personnel, as appropriate.
- Displays initiative, when appropriate, while investigating insurance pending reports and handling other assignments.
- Adheres to all elements of the established corporate compliance plan.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality both internally and externally.
- Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the
implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
Prefer one-year experience in a medical billing setting.
