Materials Development Assistant - Fashion Brand

Our client, a popular luxury fashion brand in NYC, is looking for a Materials Development Assistant to support their team on contract basis! This role is full-time hours Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Launch new trims (soft trim, hard trim, zippers) with factories overseas
• Frequent follow ups with suppliers
• Track packages to ensure items are delivering on time
• Frequent visits to the garment district to source and buy materials
• Create new codes, add colors/sizes
• Log approval comments in PLM
• Send color standards to factories
• Review lab dips and send comments to factories
• Create seasonal binders to organize and file trim submits
• Organize trim section in material library
• Unpack sample orders into trays
• Create presentation boards for seasonal developments and inspiration boards for design concept meetings
• Meet with new and existing trim vendors to select newness at the beginning of each season

Qualifications:

• MUST HAVE 1-2 years of experience in Raw Materials Product Development with a fashion brand.
• BS/BA/BFA degree
• Strong collaborative, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Able to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment
• This job starts ASAP and is not suitable for May 2025 grads.
