Fourth Purpose Foundation is a Knoxville-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to making prisons a place of transformation across the country. Located just outside the heart of downtown Knoxville, our team is dedicated to elevating awareness and driving meaningful dialogue around prison reform and rehabilitation.
Position Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Social Media Marketing Specialist to oversee the management and analysis of social media platforms for Prison Life Media, a new program that highlights innovative corrections practices across the country. This role focuses on driving engagement, analyzing performance data, and ensuring strategic alignment with the Fourth Purpose Foundation’s mission and message.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Media Management: Build, maintain, and monitor our presence on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other platforms. Post content consistently, engage with the community, and promote online interactions. Crafting and curating content that resonates with audiences and strengthens engagement.
- Trend & Data Analysis: Use tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, YouTube Analytics, and VidIQ to monitor performance metrics, track trends related to prison reform and corrections, and provide actionable insights for content optimization.
- Community Building & Monitoring: Actively oversee and engage with 50 Facebook groups and other online communities, ensuring timely responses to comments, questions, and messages. Encourage constructive conversations and meaningful interactions.
- Content Creation & Strategy: Collaborate with the team to refine strategies for increasing reach and engagement based on data insights and platform performance. Develop compelling written, graphic, and video content for each platform, tailored to increase awareness and engagement with Prison Life Media.
- Trend Tracking: Stay informed on trends in digital media, social media algorithms, and audience behavior to ensure content relevance and effectiveness.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Use third-party tools like VidIQ, SocialPilot, Hootsuite, and Opus Clip to streamline outreach and continuously improve reach and engagement. Develop regular reports summarizing social media and community performance, providing data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Outreach & Influencer Engagement: Identify and connect with key influencers in prison reform, corrections, and related fields to amplify our reach and impact.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years in social media management, content creation, or community outreach; nonprofit experience is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in social media analytics tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Trends, YouTube Analytics).
- Familiarity with automation software (VidIQ, SocialPilot, Hootsuite, Opus Clip) and a proven ability to grow brands organically.
- Strong writing, editing, graphic design, and video production skills.
Personal Attributes:
- A proactive, collaborative team player comfortable working on-site with a team of creatives.
- Passionate about social impact, particularly in prison reform and correctional transformation.
Compensation:
This is a full-time, in-office position offering an annual salary between $35,000 and $50,000.
