The Cancer Prevention and Control Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center (FCCC) in Philadelphia, PA, seeks translational researchers to assess the role of microbiota in the initiation and progression of human cancer. Qualified candidates (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) are encouraged to apply and will have an opportunity to leverage the unique resources of the FCCC Risk Assessment Program (over 16,000 high-risk families) and conduct studies as part of the NCI CAP-IT Network and as a Prime Contractor of the NCI Division of Cancer Prevention. Novel discoveries are fueled by close collaborations with oncologists, pathologists, and surgeons, with strong support provided by exceptional Core facilities. Research interests will complement those of current faculty, including but not limited to the intestinal, genitourinary, and oral microbiomes, inflammation/immunity, dietary factors, heritable cancer risk, environmental risk modeling, and the development of efficacious cancer preventive and control strategies.
Faculty at FCCC, one of the nation’s first NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers, are the recipients of numerous prestigious awards, including two Nobel prizes. As a wholly owned subsidiary of the Temple University Health System, FCCC and the Cancer Prevention and Control Program benefits from the diverse expertise of members from across the Temple enterprise, including participating faculty from the Department of Cancer and Cell Biology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine and the College of Public Health.
Qualified candidates will hold an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D., and must possess academic credentials that qualify them for academic appointment as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
