What You’ll Do:
As a Concrete Estimator/Purchaser, you will play a critical role in analyzing project requirements, managing costs, and sourcing materials to keep our projects running efficiently and on budget. Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Developing detailed proposals, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to gather necessary project details.
- Reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and cost efficiency.
- Managing job costing, labor hour breakdowns, and preparing change order requests.
- Conducting material takeoffs from construction drawings and creating job orders.
- Sourcing & purchasing project materials while ensuring compliance with schedules and budgets.
- Negotiating vendor contracts to secure optimal pricing and delivery terms.
- Staying ahead of market trends and supply chain conditions to anticipate material availability.
- Working closely with sales, logistics, and customer service teams to streamline procurement processes.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Associate’s degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: At least 5 years in purchasing or construction estimating within the industry.
- Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and cost efficiency.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate with multiple departments while maintaining accuracy under deadlines.
- Passion for Construction: Understanding of materials, suppliers, and procurement strategies in the concrete industry.
