Cashiers are responsible for the entire customer experience, from when customers come in to when they leave. Cashiers manage all monetary exchanges by taking orders and ringing up transactions; serve as a liaison between customers, managerial staff, and kitchen staff; deliver food to customers; and keep the front area of the restaurant clean and well stocked.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Greet all customers politely when they enter the restaurant.
· Answer phones in a professional and courteous manner; take delivery and takeout orders.
· Ensure orders are prepared as ordered prior to delivering to the customer.
· Responsible for delivering food to the customer.
· Responsible for bussing tables and ensuring dining room cleanliness.
· Clean and sanitize tables.
· Clean restroom.
· Utilize suggestive selling to increase sales.
· Listen to and resolve customer complaints, suggestions, and inquiries.
· Thank customers as they are leaving.
· Restock supplies.
· Take money from customers and provide correct change.
· Process credit card and debit card transactions.
· Keep track of a cash drawer and ensure it is balanced at the end of the shift.
· Responsible for providing exceptional customer service to each and every customer.
· Work well in pressure situations.
· Maintain professionalism.
· Adhere to company standards, including personal hygiene and appearance.
· Adhere to health department codes regarding food sanitation and handling.
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
· Previous work experience with a POS system is preferred.
· Food handler's card.
· Is able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
· Is able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $8.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
