The Fox Theatre in Atlanta is seeking a Full Time Concessions Manager.
The Concessions Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of the concessions department at the Fox Theatre, ensuring an exceptional guest experience through high-quality food and beverage offerings, efficient service, and operational excellence. This role oversees all aspects of concessions, including staffing, inventory management, financial performance, compliance with health and safety standards, and strategic planning for improvement and innovation.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational and operational skills, capable of managing a fast-paced, high volume environment while maintaining exceptional service standards. They will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and staff to ensure the seamless execution of concessions operations for performances, special events, and private functions.
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire concessions operation, ensuring efficiency, quality, and service excellence;
- Manage all concessions outlets, including fixed and portable concession stands, specialty bars, and premium service areas;
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize workflow and minimize service wait times while maximizing sales;
- Ensure all equipment and concessions areas are properly maintained, clean, and fully operational;
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures to enhance efficiency, safety, and profitability;
- Manage budgets, control costs, and analyze financial performance, ensuring revenue goals are met;
- Oversee inventory control, ordering, and vendor relationships to ensure appropriate stock levels while minimizing waste and loss;
- Conduct regular audits of inventory, sales reports, and cost of goods reports procedures to ensure accountability and accuracy;
- Work with finance and procurement teams to negotiate contracts, monitor pricing, and optimize product offerings;
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise all concessions staff, including full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees;
- Develop and implement training programs for concessions employees, ensuring adherence to service standards and regulatory requirements;
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and exceptional customer service;
- Provide leadership and guidance during events, ensuring smooth execution of concessions operations;
- Ensure an exceptional guest experience by maintaining high standards for food quality, service speed, and cleanliness;
- Monitor customer feedback and implement service improvements based on guest needs and expectations;
- Work collaboratively with marketing and events teams to develop and execute promotions, specialty items, and themed concessions offerings;
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, including food handling and alcohol service laws;
- Implement and enforce food safety guidelines and responsible alcohol service policies;
- Conduct regular inspections and staff training to maintain high safety and sanitation standards;
- Others duties as required.
Qualifications
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in food and beverage concessions management or high-volume hospitality operations;
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in training and supervising staff;
- Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills;
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, while also being adaptable to the changes associated with public events;
- Experience with inventory management, budgeting, invoicing, purchasing, and financial reporting;
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and policies related to food service and alcohol sales for a beverage operation;
- Ability to maintain supplies and labor cost controls and adhere to monthly and semi annual budgets;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules;
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field;
- Experience working in a performance venue, stadium, or large event-driven environment;
- Certification in food safety (ServSafe Manager) and alcohol compliance (TIPS, TEAM, or similar);
- Experience developing and implementing revenue-enhancing strategies, including upselling and promotional programs.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates;
- Ability to carry or lift items over 50lbs;
- Should be able to traverse the venue, including moving between floors.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to work variable shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed;
- Ability to adapt quickly to last-minute changes in event schedules and operational needs;
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and oversee multiple service areas simultaneously;
- Successful applicants must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check.
