HOURS : Monday - Sunday : shifts vary depending on schedule. Evenings, Holidays, and Weekends are required.
RATE : $15 / hour - minimum starting rate - depending on qualifications
TYPE : Part-Time / Seasonal
QUALIFICATIONS : Individual must be a minimum of 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Some basic security or law enforcement training is highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates pursuing a degree in criminal justice or related field. Must have effective communication skills in both verbal and written format. Must be dependable, possess leadership skills and be attentive to details. Bilingual / Spanish ability preferred. Familiarity with Aurora / FVPD coverage areas highly desired. Must successfully pass a criminal history check which is free of misdemeanor convictions within the last 5 years with no felony convictions. Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license. Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
DUTIES : The Park Service Officer, under the direction of the Deputy Chief, assists Police Officers in various non-sworn law enforcement tasks. The Park Service Officer will supervise sports games, prepare reports, assist with writing tickets, intervene in small public or private disputes to protect the public and maintain order, and report any observed violations of local ordinance and state law to sworn law enforcement officers. This is an at-will position.
