Job Description

Foxconn is currently seeking an Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to support our Server R&D team in Houston,
TX. The EPM is responsible for leading the development of custom computer servers for Hype-Scale Cloud Service
Providers (CSP’s). This individual would be responsible for the success of the project and must work closely with the customer and internal cross functional teams to plan and execute the project to its successful completion.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with functional teams (Account Manager, various Engineering teams, supply chain,

Production/Manufacturing Manager, etc..) on program expectations and requirements.

  • Work with cross-functional engineering teams to put together a Design Proposal in response to a Request

For Quote (RFQ) from the customer. The Design Proposal includes Architectural Block Diagrams, Chassis
3D models, Schematics, Bill of Materials, Thermal and Signal Integrity Simulation results, Software and
Firmware development scope and program schedules. The EPM will lead a meeting to present the Design
Proposal to the customer and gather concise customer feedback to enable engineering teams to provide technical follow-up responses or make necessary design adjustments.

  • Intricate involvement in all steps and aspects of program development, schedule management, cost management, Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) Fee management, risk management and contract management; provide related process reports accordingly.
  • Lead program reviews and sign-off tasks with customers and support teams to design critical deliverables.
  • Provide daily pro-active updates, notes, and task tracking.
  • Support formal/informal schedules to manage multiple contingency plans.
  • Mitigate risk by identifying critical paths and develop alternate solutions.
  • Attend weekly management meetings with the client to address any updates, challenges, and future planning needed.
  • Attend and lead daily calls, both internal and client-facing.
  • Provide status reporting regarding program milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating to the client and internal leadership.
  • Work creatively and analytically to encourage teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving program delivery.
  • Escalate to the Director of Program Management when the program is off track and unable to achieve program objectives in planned timeframes.
  • Monitor staff performance and act on client escalations.
  • Continue professional development in order to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices.
  • Track/drive customer escalations to satisfactory closure.
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Project Management preferred.
  • 5 years of program management experience. PMP certification preferred
  • 5 years of Hardware Design experience working in an R&D environment preferred
  • 3 years of experience with full product lifecycle with the understanding of development lifecycle and various technology methodologies that support that lifecycle
  • Knowledge of digital, analog, and high-speed design/products fundamentals
  • Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of meeting business needs
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work in a remote environment with global teams
  • Strong ability to work independently and establish procedures and processes that enable success
  • Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions, and identifying priorities
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation)
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead and communicate across all levels of a technology organization

  • Strong experience presenting to executive leadership and demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff and all levels of management
  • Team-building skills with technical and non-technical staff
  • Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to MS Project, JIRA,

Bugzilla, Zoom, WebEx, Teams, Excel, Office 365.
