What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supplier Quality Engineer position at Foxconn?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to meet product and schedule requirements
- Develop and implement supplier quality evaluation and control systems
- Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve supplier quality issues
- Collaborate with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensure corrective actions are implemented and contribute to supplier quality improvement programs
- Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure supplier compliance with contractual requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality management standards
- Prefer experience with supplier audits, performance evaluation, and corrective action plans.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic computer functions.
- Familiarity with computer hardware and operating systems such as DOS or Windows.
- Must be detail-oriented, and able to follow written SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for audit requests from customers.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects and tasks.
- Must be familiar with Visual Quality Inspection.
- Must understand customer inspection and release processes.
- Must understand Quality System Awareness.
- Must know Quality Analysis tool, such as 8D, FMEA and etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and leadership to motivate and uplift team members.
- Provide assistance and direction to the department personnel.
- Help maintain and foster a team environment
- Train and develop the IQC’s personnel.
- Provide a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment.
- Evaluate employees performance and give instruction where needed.
- Enforce all company work rules, policies, safety instructions, department quality processes, work instructions and use all proper forms.
