Job Summary:
As a Shipping and Receiving Assistant at Foxmark, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials and products through our organization. You will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying their contents, and accurately documenting inventory. Additionally, you will assist in preparing outgoing shipments to customers, ensuring that orders are packed securely and delivered on time.
- Receive incoming shipments of materials, supplies, and finished products.
- Inspect received items for accuracy, quality, and quantity.
- Verify shipping documents and match them with the received items.
- Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain organized and accurate inventory records using inventory management software.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of inventory items.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock alerts to the relevant departments.
- Assist in picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment.
- Safely package items to prevent damage during transit.
- Generate shipping labels and arrange for carrier pickups or drop-offs.
- Perform quality checks on outgoing products to ensure they meet company standards.
- Document and report any quality issues to the production team.
- Maintain detailed records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Prepare shipping and receiving reports for management.
- Manage and file shipping and receiving documents for easy retrieval.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures in the shipping and receiving area.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including hazardous material handling (if applicable).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary education or certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse, or logistics roles preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of various weights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
