Building/Grounds Maintenance

Position: Maintenance Building & Grounds

FLSA status: Non-exempt

Summary of Position: Ensures the proper repairs and overall building maintenance needs are met for the Foxtail Foods facility.

Periodically provide direct support to Maintenance Technicians as directed, to ensure the proper operation of machinery and supporting equipment by assisting with line set-ups, line changeovers, and preventative maintenance/repair requirements on all equipment within the facility.

Follows all rules related to Company, Safety, GMP, and SOP’s in a Food Processing Facility.

Reporting Relationship(s): Reports to Maintenance Leader or Manager on shift

Duties include:

• Concrete floor repairs and refinishing
• Drywall and wall frame installation/repairs
• Door curtain installation/repairs
• Plumbing installation/repairs
• 120V single phase installation/repairs
• Light bulb replacements as needed
• Ice removal in freezers
• Warehouse rack installation/repairs
• Painting
• Assembly of miscellaneous furniture/equipment/parts
• Servicing water levels in forklift batteries
• Repair of bakery/oven racks
• Responsible for timely completion of the preventive maintenance program as assigned

· Assist in maintaining all equipment, tools, supplies in stock, inventories, and required logs/reports

· Contribute to a continuous improvement culture to minimize future downtime

· Communicate effectively to appropriate individual(s) equipment status and changes

· Maintains safe and clean working environment

· Adhere to all safety standards, policies & procedures, codes of conduct and utilizing LOTO and other best practices.

· Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times with co-workers, other department employees, vendors, customers, etc.

· Utilize materials, supplies, tools and other Company property in a safe and productive manner.

· Respond to emergency situations in accordance with departmental protocol

· Completes additional tasks as assigned

Requirements:

· have 2 years of related experience.

· demonstrate the following skills:

o Drywall installation and finish

o Wall framing construction

o Sink drain repairs and basic PVC installation

o Painting with proper preparation techniques

o Small parts/equipment assembly

o 120V wiring from power source to final connection to meet code

· be willing to learn skills to understand and interpret design documents and written operational procedures.

· have GED or higher education

· have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

· be able to provide your own tools.

· be capable of doing extensive walking, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting/carrying a minimum of 50-pounds, and work for extended periods of time in cold, damp, and hot environments.

· be able to work flexible hours, including some weekends and extended shifts to support production as needed

· be fluent in written and spoken English

Highly Preferred Experience:

· Concrete floor repair and finish

· Installation of electrical conduits

· Technical school training in maintenance/construction related courses

· Ability to speak Spanish

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
