Senior Project Manager
Salary Range: $76,000-100,000
Location: Washington, DC (hybrid, one day a week). Candidates must have the right to work in the U.S.
Reports To: Director, Youth and Education
General Overview
FPF Youth and Education Policy Team seeks a senior project manager to provide oversight and administrative support for various content, business, and strategic projects. The senior project manager will work with senior management and other policy, project, and operations staff to contribute to the development and execution of project deliverables within the broader context of evolving priorities and strategic outputs and outcomes.
An ideal candidate will have experience managing agile projects and navigating related administrative processes. The role is based in the United States, with a preference for candidates in Washington, DC.
Key Responsibilities:
Management, Coordination, and Strategic Implementation for the Youth and Education Team (app. 50% of the time)
Review and approve strategic goals and projects
Meet with and oversee senior staff for workstreams,
Provide substantive review of projects, including written material, and coordination of further review with Leadership as appropriate/necessary
Communicate and coordinate between Y.E. Policy Team members and Leadership
Continually evaluate the performance and execution of staff responsibilities, respond to team and individual needs, and provide mentorship and other support as necessary.
Leading post-project evaluation
Business Development (Internal, External) (app. 30% of the time)
Draft Grant Reports and renewal documents to support leadership staff in maintaining and obtaining grant funding,
Hire and manage contractors that will help develop the Youth and Education workstream,
Attend public events on behalf of and in pursuit of the mission of FPF,
Lead or coordinate on novel areas of interest and relevance to FPF,
Conduct, oversee, or contribute to new research that doesn’t fall within one of FPF’s formal workstreams.
Assisting with cost tracking
Internal Coordination, Operations, and Support (app. 20% of the time)
Ensure members of the Y.E. Policy Team are coordinating with one another and other teams,
Work with experts on the communications, events, and operations teams to plan and execute projects as relevant.
Attending and participating in cross-team meetings, including policy team meetings, sr. staff meeting, communications meeting, and others.
Keeping informed of the work of other teams and potential areas for collaboration and assisting with that collaboration when necessary,
Attend internal coordination, strategic, and visioning meetings and provide thoughts and feedback,
Participate in internal committees (including the DEI committee),
Attending internally mandated/recommended training, talks, discussions, and workshops.
What We’re Looking For:
5-7 years of project management experience with a focus on managing complex projects, grants, and contracts;
Demonstrated experience coordinating projects across multiple people, teams, and institutions.
Preference for experience in digital project management and productivity software, including G Suite, Zoom, Monday.com, and Salesforce;
Flexibility to work across time zones and with remote team members;
Skills needed to achieve success in key areas of responsibility.
