In partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives, speeding the execution of demonstration projects and supporting rapid implementation to meet public health needs.PROGRAM OVERVIEWThe Bureau of Budget within the Finance Division is responsible for the application, administration, management, and implementation of DOHMH's expense budget. The Bureau oversees the budget administration process, works with the city's Office of Management and Budget for new city funding, manages and approves agency expenditures, and projects the agency's fiscal state and needs.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Bureau of Budget within the Division of Finance is seeking to hire a Temp Analyst to perform duties as a budget analyst.RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in maintaining the Division's Personnel Services and Other than Personnel Services budget.Update internal budgeting systems and monitor spending.Review budgets and budget modifications submitted by programs and process modifications in the city’s Financial Management System (FMS).Make recommendations to program representatives for changes and corrections of errors.Review statistical budgetary data submitted by contract agencies.Review Journal Entries and Expense Adjustments submitted by programs and submit to processing unit.Assist in ad-hoc requests from programs and within the finance division.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business.Previous experience with budgets and accounting.Strong communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail.LOCATIONGotham Center, 42-09 28th Street LIC, NY 11101HOURS35 hours per week. This position will be funded through 06 / 30 / 2025 with the possibility of extension.SALARY AND BENEFITS$37 per hour.
