Summary of Position
Accountable for directing the plant production activities to produce quality products at the least cost and consistent with company schedules and policies. Responsible for ensuring food-safe, high-quality products are produced that meet or exceed all regulatory and legal requirements. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.

Essential Functions:
- Controls and effectively utilizes production capacity, manpower, equipment, and outside resources through planning, organizing, and scheduling to minimize losses. Works within the framework to optimize company profitability. Constantly seeks to improve the processes.
- Responsible for assisting management in providing a safe and healthy work environment, free of all recognizable hazards.
- Effectively communicates in an open, timely manner and encourages others to do the same. Maintains appropriate confidentiality.
- Coordinates the production department to provide production and shipment of quality products to fulfill customer requirements.
- Ensures timely start-ups of the production lines.
- Participates in company planning through budget preparation, capital expenditure recommendations, manpower and space forecasting.
- Utilizes cost management skills to direct cross-functional training to continuously improve production efficiencies and plant controllable expenses.
- Directs the operations systems to assure customer satisfaction while increasing EVA. Assures all manufacturing processes are aligned with customer defined targets.
- Ensures that Food Safety and HACCP programs are executed throughout the plant.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, business management, or related field preferred
Experience:
- 5 - 7 years in beef processing. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
- At least 3 years in Fed Beef Processing
