Position Summary
The General Production Laborer on the Fabrication Floor is responsible for processing carcasses into standard cuts for market by following established procedures. This role requires meeting line speed and quality goals set by the Fabrication Manager, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe operations. The position also emphasizes maintaining cleanliness and compliance while contributing to the overall team effort.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assigned tasks on the assembly line to process carcasses into market-ready cuts.
- Remove bones and prepare meat into standard cuts based on specifications.
- Sort and separate lean meat from fat to meet quality standards.
- Pull, bag, and package cuts to fulfill customer orders accurately.
- Operate tools and machinery, including knives, scales, grinders, and other hand or power tools, as required for the job.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Stand for extended periods while performing physical, repetitive line work.
- Grip, grasp, lift, or push items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Work in a cold, wet environment with temperature-controlled conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in manufacturing or similar work environments is preferred.
