What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Coordinator - RKF position at FPL FOOD, LLC?
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Coordinate safety programs and provide safety training for hourly employees. Responsible for fostering a positive safety culture with the entire team through training and enforcement of safety rules and work standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Provide applicable Safety Data and Updates to Department Manager for Pre-Shift Meetings
· Perform Safety Audits and Inspections throughout the facility
o Behavioral Based Observations
o Power Industrial Truck Observations
o Hazard Communication (GHS)
o Hazardous Energy Control (LOTO)
o Ergonomics
o Process Safety Management
o Emergency Equipment
· Provide continuous training efforts to maintain OSHA Compliance and improve safety culture:
o Monthly Safety Training
o Annual OSHA Compliance Training
· Assist with tracking and recording Safety Performance quarterly
· Respond / Investigate incidents / accidents that occur in the facility
o Provide containment
o Administer recertification process
o Participate in root cause investigations
· Post-accident reports and drug testing
· Maintain safety information on Communication Board and Monitors
· Ensure associate compliance with GMP, dress code and FPL policies
· Assist with Security compliance and suspension of employees
· Provide continuous improvement opportunities to the team
· Provide assessments of associates training progress

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental
Health and Safety or related field preferred
OSHA training and CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
a plus
Experience:
-1 – 3 years administrative experience.
-Manufacturing background required, with previous safety experience preferred.

1. Must Demonstrate: Recognized leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills.
2. Excellent communication, written and oral, and customer service relationship skills. Comfortable speaking in front of large audiences.
3. Intermediate to advanced in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
4. Reliable, flexible, and confidential
Physical Demands:
1. Requires good physical condition to work in an industrial site.
2. Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift approximately 75 pounds.
3. Near visual acuity for reading instructions, manuals, specifications, etc.
4. Depth perception and wide field of vision required when operating vehicles
Work Schedule:
40 hours per week Monday through Friday (Saturday work on occasion, based on production schedule)
2:30 PM to 11:30 PM with 1-hour lunch. This schedule is subject to change based on
Safety Department needs.
