- As a minimum Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline with substantial coursework in vibration theory. Master’s degree preferred. Experience in vibration analysis, signal analysis, and/or balancing are pluses. 10 years of industry experience (Nuclear Experience is a plus)
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong attention to details and problem-solving skills
- Teamwork and action oriented
- Hands-on experience on any type of electrical machinery refurbishment
Your Opportunity
This full-time role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Mechanical and Vibration Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Pump and Motor Service Center Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. PMSC engineering is responsible for generating of all documentation required to refurbish customer contaminated equipment, in particular pumps and motors. PMSC engineering also support the Field Services organization while they are deployed to Nuclear Power Plants, as well as customers should they have any question or issue needing resolution. This position has 2 primary functions:
- Leading component (large electric motors and / or associated pumps) refurbishment projects as the Project engineer.
- This includes reviewing customer specifications, writing documentation package to support component refurbishments, generating reports, assessing equipment health, interfacing with customers, traveling to vendors for technical surveillance and manufacturing / testing witness, resolving technical issues through the Framatome Corrective Action Program, support site outages and field services teams.
- Balancing, vibration analysis, and diagnostics of equipment under refurbishment in the PMSC as well as at the commissioning of the equipment for service at operating nuclear power plants.
- Typical scope includes trim balancing of motors during testing at PMSC, field balancing of operating pumps at power plants, diagnosis of abnormal vibration conditions for in-service equipment. Field balancing often requires travel to power plants, usually for about a week.

Your Total Rewards Package
The range of base salary for the position is between $97,000 - $131,000 and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
