GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Adventures in Lifelong Learning (ALL) is an academic program designed to provide opportunities for intellectual, creative, and social engagement to adults aged 60 . Established in Fall 2011 as a partnership between Framingham State University (FSU) and the Framingham Public Library (FPL), the program offers weekly classes during the months of October, January, and March/April of each year. Class locations are delivered remotely, via Zoom. Approximately 300 adults aged 60 participate annually, and many make a voluntary financial contribution to help support the program.
The ALL Outreach Coordinator is a part-time, contractor position. This staff person is responsible for conducting outreach to isolated older adults living in the MetroWest region, informing them about courses offered free of charge through ALL, and encouraging them to participate. The ALL Outreach Coordinator collaborates with housing authorities, senior housing developments, Senior Centers/Councils on Aging, faith-based groups, the Springwell LGBTQ Coordinator, Diversity Through Collaborative at the Natick Council on Aging, Jewish Family Services of MetroWest, and other social services to help identify isolated older adults. In addition, the ALL Outreach Coordinator helps to market the program through social media, advertising, assisting with the newsletter, and distributing flyers and brochures.

EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meets with people at housing authorities, senior housing developments, senior centers, Councils on Aging, faith-based groups, Springwell, Inc. LGBTQ Coordinator, Diversity Through Collaborative at the Natick Council on Aging, Jewish Family Services of MetroWest, and other social services to provide information about ALL and identify isolated older adults.
- Conducts outreach to isolated older adults and informs them about free programming offered through ALL.
- Coordinates brown bag sessions with area community-based organizations.
- Encourages older adults to participate in ALL.
- Provides remote assistance for ALL from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm on the 12 days that the program meets during the year.
- Serves on the ALL Program Planning Committee.
- Responds to Lifelong Learning email account and phone queries.
- Completes monthly updates of outreach activities and grant reports.
- Recommends marketing strategies to reach isolated adults aged 60 in the community.
- Performs other duties as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must have a reliable personal automobile to conduct outreach.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
- Experience counseling or working with older adults.
- Evidence of consistent reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to adapt and respond to multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Must be willing to support the goals and objectives of the program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience conducting outreach to adults aged 60 .
- Candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese are strongly encouraged to apply.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time non-benefited, contract position, not to exceed 18 hours per week. The scheduled hours vary throughout the year. The pay rate is $25.00 per hour, with a maximum annual contract amount of $9,000.00.
