What are the responsibilities and job description for the PAT Coordinator position at Francis Howell School District?
- Directs the planning and implementation of the Parents as Teachers program to ensure high standards of service.
- Ensures compliance with state laws, guidelines, and reporting requirements.
- Oversees staffing, hiring, training, and evaluation of Parent Educators and Developmental Screeners to maintain program quality.
- Manages program space, equipment, and materials for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Evaluates program success through informal and formal stakeholder feedback.
- Seeks additional funding sources to enhance early childhood education services.
- Works interdependently with early childhood and elementary principals, PAT staff, DESE, PATNC, and community resources.
- Develops partnerships within the community to benefit families and children.
- Markets the Parents as Teachers program and recruits families with children from birth to school entry.
- Provides referrals and resources to families as needed.
- Researches best practices and current trends in early childhood education.
- Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness through data analysis and reporting.
- Submits annual reports and applications to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
- Provides program updates and data to the Board of Education annually.
- Facilitates a smooth transition for children from early childhood programs to elementary school.
- Develops collaborative opportunities for early childhood and elementary educators to align strategies.
- Ensures compliance with Parents as Teachers National Center (PATNC) certification requirements.
- Prepares and oversees the Parents as Teachers program budget.
- Manages invoicing, state revenue monitoring, and purchasing.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Child Development, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification: Parents as Teachers Foundational Models 1 and 2 certification required. Additional training and presentation experience preferred.
- Experience: Three or more years as a Parent Educator; leadership experience preferred.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of child development, early learning standards, and curriculum.
- Knowledge of screening instruments and child development concerns.
- Familiarity with Parents as Teachers curriculum, program model, and state guidelines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data, plan strategically, and manage programs and personnel.
