WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Perform as a Trauma Educator and mentor to staff along the entire care continuum, collaborating with the Emergency Department and inpatient educators to ensure nurse competency in the care of the trauma patient.
- Provide oversight of trauma education and clinical acumen in the facility and understand the relationship between robust performance improvement and the quality of trauma education and outreach activities.
- Perform as an Injury Prevention Coordinator providing injury prevention and outreach education and training to nurses, EMS providers, other healthcare providers, and community members.
- Oversee the Trauma Program's public relations, outreach, and injury prevention programs to maintain Trauma Center verification and designation requirements for outreach education and injury prevention, including related Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Involved in injury prevention review and injury prevention programs that are consistent with community need, as well as research efforts related to trauma center data analysis and evidence-based research activities.
- Hands-on, day-to-day management and support of all prevention activities, strategic planning, and budgeting for the trauma program.
