Job Description
The Wound Care and Skin Integrity Expert will be responsible for overseeing the treatment of residents with all types of wounds and ulcers. This role involves collaborating with physicians, administering treatments, and educating staff on wound care best practices.
This position requires a nursing degree, relevant licensure, and experience in a clinical setting, particularly in geriatrics. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and consulting on residents with skin integrity issues, developing treatment plans, and communicating results to the physician and Director of Nursing.
Essential Functions
- Assess and consult on residents with skin integrity issues.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
- Administer wound care treatments and assess their effectiveness.
- Communicate results and concerns to the physician and Director of Nursing.
Qualifications
An Associate's degree or higher in a clinical/nursing area of study is required, along with a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license. At least 1 year of experience in a clinical/nursing setting within the geriatric industry is also necessary.
