A Wound Care Nurse oversees the treatment and management of residents with wounds and skin integrity issues, collaborating with physicians to develop treatment plans, administering wound care treatments, and documenting progress. The nurse establishes wound care protocols and educates associates on wound care best practices.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and assess all residents with wounds and pressure ulcers
- Assess and consult for all residents with skin integrity issues as needed
- Collaborate with physicians to develop a plan of treatment
- Administer wound care treatments, including sharp debridement
- Document progress and changes in the condition of residents' skin
- Communicate results and concerns to physicians, Directors of Nursing, and other associates
- Establish wound care protocols and identify high-risk residents to promote optimal skin integrity outcomes
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or higher in a clinical/nursing area of study
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- 1 years of experience in a clinical/nursing setting within the geriatric industry
- Oustanding customer service and bedside manner
Working Conditions:
Monday-Friday: 8:00am to 4:30pm
