Responsibilities:
In this highly visible position, you will direct and manage all operations for a 450,000 square foot warehousing and distribution facility in Dillon, SC. Reporting to senior corporate management, responsibilities including directing the selection, training development and supervision of management staff and their subordinates; ensuring warehousing and distribution activities meet expected performance levels; monitoring and controlling capital expenditures; preparation and control of facility budgets; security and safeguarding of company assets including preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and safety activities of the facility. Duties include:
1. Directs the activities of staff to ensure that they will plan, lead, and take control of their respective areas to ensure that objectives and expected performances are met including P&L, customer service levels, cost reduction, etc.
2. Ensures that facility meets and conforms to the policies and procedures of the company, including security, internal controls, safety and housekeeping. Recommends changes in existing policies necessary to improve the conduct of the business for approval of the VP, Chief Operations Officer.
3. Fosters effective communication with employees and managers in the facility and throughout company.
4. Provides Corporate Management with a continuing flow of feedback on operations, ideas and solutions to problems or opportunities.
5. Conducts regular meetings with staff to review P&L and shipping performance, distribution objectives, progress and priorities.
6. Reviews reports on shipping and receiving plans, labor costs and facility performance. Initiates corrective action on any issues with inventory discrepancies, accuracy schedules, excessive costs, material shortages, or other deterrent factors.
7. Develops, directs and monitors internal control program, safety, security and housekeeping plans and progress.
Requirements:
· 10 years’ experience as a Distribution or Warehouse Manager.
· Experience in a high volume, multi-product business utilizing automated systems, state-of-the-art technology.
· Must have experience shipping to mass merchants and on-line retailers.
· Knowledge of receiving, storage and retrieval systems, pick pack, direct-to-consumer, and case pack and shipping operations.
