What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Assistant/Caregiver - FT position at Franklin Companies?
Franklin Park Alamo Heights has an opening for an activities assistant/caregiver.
Full time: Monday - Friday
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Have a commercial driver's License with passenger endorsement
- Have a clean driving record
- Enjoy providing or overseeing selected resident activities, such as movie night
- Have outstanding interpersonal skills; must be patient and able to work with residents with low vision, hearing loss, confusion, and other age-related changes
- Be able to work flexible hours Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends
- Prior experience working with older adults and driving a multi-passenger bus strongly preferred
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Drive groups of residents on scheduled shopping trips and excursions in company-owned vehicles; assist residents during outings as needed
- Drive individual residents to personal appointments; record mileage and complete/submit billing documents
- Help residents—some using wheelchairs and walkers—to get into and out of vehicle; secure wheelchairs according to safety regulations
- Manage vehicle upkeep: scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and cleaning
- Track gas purchases and submit bills to business office
- Set up for, lead and/or assist with activities as assigned
- Purchase/pick up supplies and equipment, and make deliveries on behalf of the community
