What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Sheriff "Lateral" position at Franklin County Sheriff's Office?
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is seeking a POPS certified peace officer "Deputy" to protect and serve it's citizens in all aspects of law enforcement. The selected candidate will be expected to comply with all statutory duties required by law. As a Deputy Sheriff, the candidate selected will be tasked with the following:
1) Traffic control (county/city/interstate)
-investigate and assist with traffic accidents
-investigate criminal complaints
-prevent and detect crime or disturbances of the peace
-enforce the laws of the state of Kentucky and ordinances of Franklin County
-answer calls for service from citizens of Franklin County
2) Attend court, keep order, and carry out orders of the courts
3) Transport prisoners to and from court and correctional facilities
4) Execute and serve civil and criminal process of the courts
5) Participate in community service events
Position requires possession of a high school diploma or GED and three (3) years of related law enforcement experience. Candidates must possess a POPS certification in accordance with the KLEC. In addition, applicants must possess a valid Kentucky drivers license, and be of good moral character and pass a background check
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office allows with limitations, facial hair and tattoos. Deputies have an option to wear an outer vest carrier
Salary: $29.00 per hour $60,320.00 per year; plus $4,429 annual training incentive
Federal Overtime available; Kentucky Office of Highway Safety
Additional four (4) hours built in overtime every other week
