System Administrator | Contract to Hire

Location: Waltham, MA

Contract Length: 3 Months C2H

Rate: $35-$40

The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and partners.

The role:

You'll be responsible for:

• Infrastructure upkeep: Provisioning, installing, and maintaining systems (servers, laptops, printers, backups—you name it).
• Innovation: Researching and recommending better ways of doing things, including automating tasks wherever possible.
• Day-to-day troubleshooting: From network security to user account management, backups, and everything in between.
• Windows expertise: Administration across Windows platforms, including Exchange.
• Travel: Field office support as needed, so you'll need reliable transportation. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.

Your toolkit:

• Experience with Windows Server, DHCP, DNS, networking.
• Hands-on knowledge of network cabling (troubleshooting and installing).
• The ability to handle heavier IT equipment when required (servers, switches).
• Certifications? Microsoft-focused certs would be ideal, but we’re open-minded.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
