Service Criteria

Purpose
Under the general guidance of the Assistant Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Department in the upkeep of buildings and grounds of Franklin Savings Bank and its various branch locations to ensure that all locations are presentable and in proper working condition. Work assignments may be in any of the building trades.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs a variety of duties relevant to the repair and maintenance of the buildings and grounds of FSB.
- Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and structural repairs as necessary. (Knowledge, experience, certification and specific training a plus)
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.
- Implement preventative maintenance measures and work with vendors to ensure all branches are maintained in a satisfactory manner.
- Makes minor repairs and install equipment or appliances when necessary.
- Conducts errands as requested in a professional manner, and adhere to all bank policies and procedures as it pertains to security and professionalism.
- Perform safety inspections and assist with the maintenance of all facilities as requested.
- Complies with all regulations that apply within the scope of this position. (Experience and knowledge with EPA, Hazmat and OSHA compliance a plus)
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:
- A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 4 years prior experience is required.
- Effective written, oral and computer communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter, have an eye for detail and be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specific directions and procedures.
- Experience in operating a variety of equipment including snow blowers, lawn equipment and various hand tools.
- Experience in electrical, heating, cooling, plumbing, general construction and/or overall building care would be helpful.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Physical effort is required in the performance of building/grounds maintenance.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted. Lift, stand, walk, drive, climb ladders, shovel, etc.
- Tolerate exposure to adverse weather and driving conditions when performing duties, involving travel.
- Must be willing to respond to after hour emergency response calls as needed.
