What is the Revenue Accounting group responsible for?
The Revenue Accounting team is an integral part of the Global Financial Accounting team at Franklin Templeton. The Revenue Accounting team is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and company policies. In addition, the Revenue Accounting team partners with the business to provide support for operational requirements and financial information. Most importantly, the Revenue Accounting team is entrusted with providing valuable insights to assist with improving the quality of every business decision so that we can maintain the highest level of service to our clients.
What is the Accountant - Revenue Accounting responsible for?
The Accountant - Revenue Accounting is responsible for completing month end financial closing tasks to ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue related to separately managed accounts. Specifically, this position is responsible for reviewing monthly revenue reports and related revenue adjustments needed, processing journal entries, preparing account reconciliations and responding to questions from client service. The Accountant - Revenue Accounting will have the opportunity to interact with client-facing professionals around the globe in fulfilling client questions and requests. In addition, the Accountant - Revenue Accounting will be expected to support team projects and system implementations on an as needed basis.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of an Accountant - Revenue Accounting?
- Supporting client service professionals on fee and invoicing inquiries
- Monitoring daily bank statements and applying payments
- Tracking, monitoring and responding to email inquiries in a timely manner
- Processing manual journal entries and supporting the month end financial close process
- Reconcile accounts receivable balances and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Review and distribution of receivables aging
- Analysis of revenue on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Supporting audit requests
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures to enhance the efficiency of the revenue and accounts receivable functions
- Assisting with various projects on an as needed basis

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $59,000.00 - $70,000.00.
