Job Summary
The Human Resource Generalist aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at all business locations. This role helps run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices, and positive employee relations. The HR Generalist ensures plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed.
Responsibilities
- Helps in the administration of health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Monitors Worker's Compensation Program in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Administers the FMLA process and other medical absence procedures.
- Administers the Drug and Alcohol Program per established policies.
- Supports payroll department as needed.
- Performs various clerical functions, such as photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; Files documents into appropriate employee files.
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested, such as unemployment administration, grant applications, labor relations administration, etc.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees that covers absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience required.
- Two years related experience preferred.
- Prior experience in labor relations preferred.
- Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Must have and maintain an active driver's license and ability to be drive company vehicles.
Physical requirements
Position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which includes moderate noise exposure, occasionally climbing up steep stairs/steps, walking for moderate periods of time over even and uneven terrain, reaching forward, overhead, and to the sides, etc. Must have listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to work in areas at times that are not environmentally controlled. Ability to move/lift/pull/push 50 lbs.

Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
