Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician performs services and repairs of the interior and exterior of the community. The technician completes work orders, electrical, HVAC, routine plumbing and participates in snow and ice removal.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Treats residents with dignity, respect, compassion and kindness
- Perform maintenance of building systems and general building maintenance utilizing: carpentry, painting, light electrical, and plumbing.
- Basic repairs of household appliances and mobility devices such as wheelchairs or walkers.
- Assists in snow removal and general ground maintenance.
- Change filters on all supply air fans and fan coil units
- Maintain safe and secure environment for residents, employees and visitors by patrolling and monitoring facilities and grounds
- Report any suspicious activity or crime to 911
- Maintain familiarity of all facilities disaster and emergency policies, procedures and regulations; respond immediately to emergency alarms or calls for help, determine course of action, notify appropriate authorities as needed.
- Self-assigns and performs tasks enhancing resident comfort and safety
- Utilizes the Work Order System to complete all assigned work orders with a sense of urgency.
- Identifies and reports broken equipment or uncertain conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and safe condition that meets safety regulations.
- Respond to emergency situations in accordance with departmental protocol.
- In collaboration with department supervisor performs required fire alarm tests.
- Communicates with supervisor when complex repairs and maintenance requests require an outside contractor.
- Research, recommend and submit Purchase Order Requests when parts or supplies are needed.
- Perform building and safety inspections as requested.
- Attends staff meetings and In-Service training. Completes on-line training as assigned.
- Completes documentation in an accurate, complete, and timely manner per organizational standards.
- Participates in periodic on-call duties.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Here’s what you need:
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with residents, staff, and visitors.
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret documents, work orders, Instructions, blueprints, policies and procedures, and manuals.
- 3-4 years of general maintenance experience, preferably in a health care facility.
- Experience and skills to diagnose and repair household appliances and mobility devices such as wheelchairs and scooters.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be available for some evenings and weekends and have flexibility in schedule.
- A valid Colorado Driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Must successfully pass organization required pre-employment drug screening and background screening

Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Range: $24.30-28.60 per hour. Pay is based on Experience and Education.
- Additional compensation: When applicable, this position is eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift. Compensation is also provided for on call assignments.
