The Kirkland Eagles is hiring for a Bar Manager/Bartender position. The Eagles is a private club for members and their guests. We are looking for someone with experience in Bar Management. The hours are split between managing the bar and bar tending. Approximately 10-15 hours per week are dedicated toward Bar Manager. General Purpose
Plan, direct and oversee all bar operations including managing and training staff, ensuring product and service standards are met and implementing, maintaining procedures for maximum operating efficiency and adhering to and enforcing Aerie By-Laws, House Rules, State Liquor Laws and State Gambling Laws.
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Determine bar staff needs and recruit staff to provide excellent service to all members and guests
· Communicate and manage performance of bar staff and quickly resolve conflicts in accordance with Board of Trustee standards and expectations, job description, and employee handbook
· Assess development needs, train, coaches, and manages bar staff to meet expectations of job duties
· Communicate and ensure bar staff and volunteers are operating and enforcing Aerie By-Laws, House Rules, State Liquor Laws and State Gambling Laws in accordance with club operation at all times
· Creating weekly/monthly schedules for bar staff and/or volunteers to ensure that bar is well staffed during peak hours and events for prompt and courteous service
· Fill in for absences of regularly scheduled bartenders and extended absences or scheduled vacations will be covered and approved by Board of Trustees
· Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages to meet set standards including consistent pours
· Resolve member and guest complaints promptly
· Monitor cleanliness and hygiene of bar area, hall, restrooms, and outside porch
· Promote and practice compliance with fire, health, safety and hygiene standards and regulations
· At all times shall enforce Aerie By-Laws, House Rules, State Liquor Laws, and Gambling Laws pertaining to club operation
· Oversee accurate daily cash tills are provided for daily operation and accurately reconciled at end of shifts
· Monitor and order supplies as needed to maintain adequate inventory to allow bar to operate smoothly and without interruptions
· Liaise with suppliers and sales representatives
· Confirm that procurement of supplies is on the best possible terms
· Make certain present when all deliveries are made and checked in correctly and documentation is correct
· Check stock is correctly totaled and stored to reduce wastage
· Oversee the bar display to maximize functionality and attractiveness
· Set, monitor, and control budget for the beverage unit/bar
· Plan and implement products and services with bar and bar staff to maximize sales and revenue
· Coordinate with kitchen manager on required setups for all club events and/or private events
· Attend, communicate, and present weekly bar financials and business to Board of Trustees at Thursday meetings
· Maintain regular communication with staff per weekly and/or monthly meetings and discussions
· Create and maintain a welcoming environment for our members and other staff members
· Stay current with legislation regarding service of alcohol, sale of tobacco, gambling, and licensing
The Bar Manager hours are paid at $25 per hour and the bartending hours are paid at minimum wage plus tips.
